Robert Dee Fondy, the five-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Fondy, died in his crib late Thursday in Havana, Cuba where Mr. Fondy was professionally playing baseball this winter. The parents will be flying home immediately and Kremer Mortuary will be in charge of the funeral arrangements. Besides the parents, the child is survived by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Virgil Fondy Sr. of North G Street and maternal grandparents, Mr. J. W. Johnson of Redding and Mrs. Mary MacDonald of Mayfield Avenue in San Bernardino. Information from an article published in the San Bernardino Sun on February 14, 1948.
