Born in Stockton, Calif., on Oct. 2, 1946, she was the daughter of Manuel R. and Pauline (Kapitan) Fonseca.
Ms. Brown was a self-employed baker and cake decorator, and was known as a do-it-yourself person.
She was a member of the Vermont Horseman Association, Rough Riders Association, and a 4-H leader.
She enjoyed trout fishing in brooks, horses, hunting, coaching Little League and being a Girl Scout Brownie leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Lynn Brown of Hubbardton.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Ducharme Funeral Home, 1939 Main St., Castleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hooved Animal Sanctuary, PO Box 258, Chelsea, VT 05038.
