Modesta Fonseca Cruz, 87, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Greenwood-Arlington Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, 76107. Visitation: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 22; the family will be in attendance from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood-Arlington Chapel. Modesta was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, and lived in Arlington for the past 23 years. She was a teacher and treasurer at Sabana Llana Elementary School in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, for 20 years. She touched many lives through her passion and love for her job. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio Cruz; and her parents, Jose and Antonia Fonseca. Survivors: Her sons, Alberto F. Del Rio (Maria) and Wilfredo Del Rio; her grandchildren, Dawn Cortez (Jose), Melissa Ferguson, Fernando Del Rio (Shalanda), Fernando Carrasquillo (TJ), Jason Del Rio (Deborah), Jimmy Del Rio, Jodi Carpenter (Nolle), Maile Howell (Clayton), Hailey Del Rio; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
