Agnes Bernice Fonteyn was born on March 16, 1919, in Minneota, to Henry and Anna (Richter) Koltze. She grew up and attended school in Minneota. On May 1, 1939, she was united in marriage to Leo Fonteyn. The couple farmed and raised their family south of Minneota. Agnes worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Minneota Manor until 1987 when her husband became ill. She enjoyed embroidery, playing bingo and playing cards at the Senior Center. Her faith and her family were most important to her. She will be remembered for her pleasant demeanor and constant smile.
Agnes died on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. She is survived by her children Paul (and Sis) Fonteyn of Minneota, LeRoy (and Diane) Fonteyn of St. Paul Park, David (and Stella) Fonteyn of Staples, Karen (and Dale) Swedzinski of Taunton, Larry (and Sue) Fonteyn of Buffalo, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo and grandchildren Jeff, Mary Jo and Mary Kay.
