Virginia Foote Bluto, 84, of Camillus, died Wednesday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Burlington, VT, she was raised in Charlotte, VT and lived in Camillus since 1956. Virginia "Iggy" was a graduate of the Northfield Seminary for Girls in Mount Hermon, MA and Vermont Junior College. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She loved all things, "New England". "Iggy" may have left the farm, but the farm never left her. She loved her family and friends, animals, craftwork, and was a little bit of a sports fanatic.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Dr. Eugene J. Bluto; sons, Charles E. (Cynthia Jorgenson) of Narragansett, RI, Jeffrey M. of Camillus and Stephen J. (Suzette) of Forrest Hills; daughter, Jocelyn M. (Bill Hatfield) Bluto of Warwick, RI; grandchildren, Catherine V. Bluto and Charlene M. Bluto, both of Syracuse, and Nicholas P. Bluto and Alexandra M. Bluto, both of Forrest Hills.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
