Hartwick April 25th:

Mrs Amelia Barton, widow of the late Adelbert Barton, passed away at the home of her son, Leroy Barton early friday morning Apr 22nd suffering from a general breakdown due to old age. Mrs. Barton had been tenderly cared for by her son and daughter-in-law for a long time. Mrs. Barton was born in Coventry Feb 18 1845, the daughter of George and Sophia Foote. She is survived by five children, Leroy Barton of New Lisbon, Apollos Barton of Garrettsville, Pearl Card of Gilbertsville, Perry Barton of Morris,Luella Galusha of Canajoharie and one son by a former marriage Fred Cooper of Owego who was unable to attend the funeral because of illness. Pearl Card was unable to attend because of illness. Also 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Barton of San Point Idaho, and Mrs Nettie Keler of Cannonsville, one brother Apollos Foote of Bainbridge. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Garrertsville and of the Ladies Aid Society. Funeral services were held on Sunday April 24twith a prayer at the home of her son Leroy, the serrvices were held at her church abd the burial was in the family plot in the Butternut Valley Cemetery.
