Thursday Morning, April 16, 2015, GOD sent an angel for Charlaya (Char) Grove Foote. After a brave and faithful battle with diabetes and kidney failure, she left her earthy pain and sorrow behind and went home to be with her Heavenly Father, in a land where there is no pain, sorrow or tears.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday April 25, 2015 at Mt. Olive MB Church in Walnut, MS at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry J. Gillard delivering the eulogy. Burial was in the Ruckersville Cemetery (Falkner, MS) and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

Char as she was affectionately called, was the daughter of the late Thomas A. Grove and Hazel Jean Shepard born on September 17, 1969 in Seattle, Washington. Besides her parents, Char is preceded in death by her grandparents Charles Groves and Edna Lee Dora Groves.

Char attended the public schools of Seattle and Renton, Washington, After moving to Middleton, TN she graduated from Middleton High School and went to attend Lane College in Jackson, TN and later attended Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS. While a student at Lane College, she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in the fall of 1989, Beta Chi # 4.

Char was a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. While attending she was a Sunday School Teacher, mission president, choir member, youth director, and sick treasurer. She took great love and pride while caring for others. Later in life she became a member of the Rockhill Missionary Baptist Church where she was a youth director.

On November 8, 1990, she was united in holy matrimony to Eddie Joe Foote who preceded her in death. To this union two children were born.
