Alanson was b. about 1820-1821 in MA. He was living in Wayne County, NY in 1840 and married Rachel Alzora Thomas, shortly after. Rachel Alzora, of Williamson, Wayne, NY, was the daughter of Ezra Thomas and Abi Barmore.
Alanson and Rachel Alzora Foote moved to Green Creek Twp, Sandusky, OH for a short time and then to Fairfield, Lenawee Co., MI, where he enlisted in the 18th Michigan Infantry, Company G., at the age of 45. He died in 1864 and is buried in Nashville, TN.
