Rosetta June Brooks
January 4, 1932 – January 9, 2014

Rosetta June Brooks, 82, of Monroe, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday surrounded by her family.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home. Rev. Lawrence Detruf, pastor of First Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.

June was born January 4, 1932 in Carleton. She was the daughter of Milton and Beatrice (Wellman) Ford. In 1948 she met the love of her life while working at the A & W Rootbeer Stand, Edward M. Brooks, whom she married on August 14, 1948 in Erie; Edward preceded her in death on May 1, 2008.

She was retired as a route driver for the Monroe Evening News.

June attended First Church of God and was the Sunday School secretary for many years.

For many years June handcrafted her Santa's and snowmen and she enjoyed selling them at art and craft shows and most recently at Matthes Tree Farm.

She is survived by three sons, Michael Brooks of Monroe, Gary Brooks of Toledo and Mark (Pamela) Brooks of Ida; four daughters, Lorna (William) Myers of Monroe, Dr. Denise (Steven Starring) Brooks of Monroe, Julie (Fred) Jacobs of Dundee, Jackie (Ben) Guthrie of Monroe; two brothers, Gary (Fran) Ford of Parchment, Michigan, Danny Cote of Clearwater, Florida; two sisters, Delores Chapman of Fenton, Michigan and Joyce (Dave) Darby of Brooksville, Florida; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Don Ford and Larry Ford; two sisters, Deanna Connelly and Nelda Burroughs.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the First Church of God or a charity of the donor's choice.
