Born in Brimfield, Ill., Mr. Forney moved to Gainesville from Milford, Ill., in 1981.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator before retiring. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where he was active in the senior Sunday school class and Christian Witness Training.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie E. Forney of Gainesville; three daughters, Carol Lee Rosenboom of Gainesville, Donna Faye Snow of Ocala and Kay Cile George of Gainesville; a brother, Dr. Robert R. Schenck of Chicago; a sister, Marie Norton of Galesburg, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Burial on Saturday, May 29, 1993 at Forest Meadows Memorial Park, Gainesville, Florida.
