Emily Fortune Baldwin, 86, of Asheville, died on Thursday, October 27, 2011. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Jack and Nan Whitaker Fortune. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Belton Baldwin, and by her sisters, Clara Gallimore and Beverly Stewart.
She is survived by her son, James Baldwin and wife Tina, of Henderson Co.; daughter, Nancy Crouch and husband Terry, of Asheville; brother, Albert Fortune; sister-in-law, Lois Angel and husband Weldon; and granddaughters, Kara Baker and husband Brent, of California, and Sarah Crouch, of Asheville.
A funeral service for Mrs. Baldwin will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Melton officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
