Arden H. Fossey, 88, Yates Center, KS, died Monday, January 29, 2007, in Yates Center.
Mr. Fossey was born Nov. 10, 1918 in Nickerson, KS, to Johnson Samuel "Don" and Viola Agnes Stephens-Fossey. He grew up in the Nickerson and Rena County areas and graduated from high school there. He attended a year of college and worked on a farm.
In 1940, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps and was assigned as a Maintenance Technician 31st Fighter Group. He was stationed in Sicily and Rhineland and North Apennies.
In 1950 Mr. Fossey moved to Yates Center and was employed by Mahon Ford Dealership as a mechanic.
Survivors include three nieces, a nephew, and a sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, KS. Interment will follow under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the funeral home.
