Arline Fowler Dempsey passed away on February 6, 2015 after 92 years of a happy, productive life. Arline was a local historian and author with two published books to her credit, "Memories of Morris Canal" and "Old Boonton and the Jersey City Reservoir." Arline was very active with the NJ Special Olympics having received the honor of being voted "Volunteer of the Year for the State of New Jersey" in 1988. Arline was active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 2519, District 10 for many years and has acquired many awards from both the VFW and Special Olympics. She has been involved in many acts of public service including guiding applicants through the long and arduous process of becoming United States Citizens. While she worked at the Morristown Court House she took great pleasure in helping people track down their family history with no recompense other than the joy of helping others.

Arline was married to the late Joseph Francis Dempsey and previously to the late Alan L. Morrison. She was the mother of the late Denise Dempsey Frenzel. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Morrison Hurley of East Providence, RI and her beloved son, William N. Morrison of Ipswich, MA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Doyle Funeral Home 106 Maple Ave., Morristown, NJ on Wednesday at 10:00AM. Interment German Valley Cemetery. Hours of visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-6PM.
