Ella Mae Frank, born in 1912 to parents, Tingo and Amanda Jones Frank was one of ten children. She married John Chartis "Jay" Geboe, the son of John Chartis Geboe, Sr. and Lucy Bearskin Geboe in 1940 at Okemah, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. Ella and Jay were both of American Indian heritage. They had three children; two boys and one girl.

Early in their marriage, Ella and Jay left Oklahoma and moved to California. Jay was employeed as a structural engineer. He worked for a couple different firms.

On the other hand, Ella did artistic work. She was quite crafty with her projects. She did extensive bead work and basketry. She taught her kids the crafts she was so good at doing. Ella could also draw. She was noted for the cartoon sketches she doodled on paper.

And, just for fun Ella loved to play pool. She and Jay had their own pool table. Heated games often ensued between the couple and Ella won more times than she lost. Poor Jay. He tried. But, he just couldn't match or master the skill his wife had with the game.

The family as a whole loved camping, water sking, and fishing. Being outdoors was a favorite passtime.

Yes, Ella was a homemaker, but she was so much more. Her talents were great. She embraced her heritage and used it for it's fullest potential.
