Billy Gerald Frederick, 69, Florence, Ala., passed away Jan. 25, 2003, at his residence.He was born in Hackleburg, Ala., to the parents of William L. and Willie L. Barnwell Frederick. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps before returns to Florence, where he attended Florence State College. He retired from Reynolds Alloys Co. in 1993 after 29 years of service with the planning and scheduling department.Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Entombment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. John Tanner, Cove United Methodist Church, Huntsville. Elkins Funeral Home will be assisting the family.He was preceded in death by his father, William Levi Frederick; brother, Max Barnwell Frederick; and sister, Emily Jane Willard.He is survived by his wife, Nelda Dillard Frederick, Florence; son, Mike, and daughter-in-law, Linda Frederick, Muscle Shoals; daughter, Cindy, and son-in-law, Mike Tanner, Florence; mother, Willie L. Frederick of Fulton, Miss.; brothers, Hayward Frederick of Danville, Va., and Roger Frederick of McCalla, Ala.; sisters, Elaine Cook of Poole, Ky., and Anne Barnes of Fulton, Miss.; grandson, Steven Frederick of Muscle Shoals; stepgrandchildren, Chuck Bradford of Houston, Texas, Ben Tanner of Memphis, Tenn., and Ashley Tanner of Birmingham, Ala.Pallbearers will be Ross Feltman, Bud Dillard, Jim Mattox, Stan Smith, Jack Zenik and Roger Frederick.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Tennessee Valley, 3115 Northington Court, Suite 140, Florence, AL 35630.
