Barbara Jean Morgan Freeman 1930-2009 - Barbara Jean Morgan Freeman passed away on Monday, Aug 17, 2009 in Boise Idaho following a battle with cancer. She was the youngest of seven children born to Hazel and Main Morgan on April 3, 1930 in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. After graduating from Glenns Ferry High School, she moved to Columbus, Ohio to live with her brother Lloyd and wife Helen. She realized after a couple years that the climate was just too cold; then in 1951 Barbara moved to Columbus, Ga. with her brother Keath and wife Mary where she met her future husband Ed while he was stationed as a young officer in Ft Benning, Ga. Barbara and Ed then were married at Ft Belvoir, Va. on April 30, 1954 where their 22 years of military life began seeing all parts the world. Barbara and Ed were blessed in their lives with two sons, Mike and Doug. On conclusion of her husband's military career they retired to Boise, Idaho in 1974. During this time she completed cosmetology school as one of the top of her class. In 1977 her first of four grandchildren were born which was her new focus on life. Barbara loved being with her family, decorating her home, cooking and especially her passion for shopping and Jackpot. Barbara is survived by her sons Mike (Anita) Freeman and Doug (Tina) Freeman, four grandchildren, Cori (Brad) Dalton, Scott Freeman, Haylee Freeman, all residing in Boise and Joshua (Brittany) Freeman of San Diego, Calif., three great-grandsons, Cooper and Bronco Dalton, and Trace Freeman, of Boise, as well as one sister, Viola Davy, Glenns Ferry, Idaho, two brothers, Ralph Morgan, Mt. Home, Idaho, and Keath (Mary) Morgan of Kathleen, Ga. and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Ed W Freeman on Aug. 20, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Golda Rose of Glenns Ferry, Idaho; brothers Glenn Morgan of Medford, Ore., and LLoyd Morgan of Columbus, Ohio She will be remembered by those whose life she touched. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel with viewing to be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The committal service will be held at 12 noon at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2676 South Vista, Boise, ID 83705.
