OBITUARY
Zella May Dannehl, 79, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born February 26, 1930, in Basalt, Idaho, to Lorin Farr Freeman and Dolores Jensen Freeman, the 10th child of 16. She grew up in Basalt and graduated from Firth High School in 1947.

On April 15, 1948, she married Clarence S. Fischer, in Bonneville County, Idaho.

On September 22, 1952, she married George E. Dannehl. They were later divorced. Except for a few months that she lived in Blackfoot, Idaho, she lived in Idaho Falls her entire adult life.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had served as a visiting teacher, in the Extraction Program, Cub Scout den leader coach, and Webelos leader.

She worked for Idaho Falls School District #91 for 23 years at A.H. Bush Elementary school as the luncheon supervisor and the school librarian.

Zella loved to crochet Afghans and doilies, doing crafts, scrapbooking, and most of all playing pinochle; she also loved serving in the scouting program.

She was proud to have 5 children serve in the Armed Forces covering all branches of the military and with a total of 38 years of service. She currently has 5 grandsons serving in the military.

She is survived by the following children: Shirley Wilcox of Iona; Raeo (Bonnie) Dannehl of Idaho Falls; Christina Barriga of Idaho Falls; Henery (Mary) Dannehl of Shelley; Rhonda Quilici of Maryland; Terry Dannehl of Idaho Falls; Walter Dannehl of Idaho Falls; Dolores Robert) Ybarra of Stockton, California; a daughter-in-law, Katsuko Fischer of Alaska; brothers: Carl (Marlene) Freeman of Idaho Falls; Kenneth (Bessie) Freeman of Boise; Paul (Joy) Freeman, Franklyn (Nancy) Freeman, and Jerry (Wilma) Freeman all of Basalt; Melvin (Lois) Freeman of California; Richard Freeman of California; 27 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Fischer, her parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Basalt Cemetery.
