Alice was raised in the rural Stephen area where she attended country school. She attended North Star School in Warren before graduating from Stephen High School in 1927.
Alice went to Teacher Training School in Warren and she taught country school for three years. On March 28, 1931, she married Charles J. Anderson in Detroit Lakes with a former pastor of Salem performing the ceremony. They made their home in Augsburg Township, Marshall County, until 1936 when they moved to Nelson Park Township, Marshall County, (rural Karlstad, MN) where they farmed.
In 1991, they moved to the Landmark Center in Warren. Charles died on September 7, 1995.
She was a member of the Salem and Hegland Lutheran Churches and active in church affairs.
Warren - Alice Anderson, 98, died on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at her home in Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, (today) at the Salem Lutheran Church in rural Stephen. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Interment will be held at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Richard (Ione) Anderson of Viking, June (Gerald) Reese of Brooten and Marlene Anderson of Warren; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; sixteen step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Lay of Bonsall, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers, Arthur, Paul, Vernon, Philip and R. Sheldon; two sisters, Vivian and Anna and daughter-in-law, Jean."
