Louise M. Ailes, 82, of Kouts, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 30, 2001 at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso. Mrs. Ailes was a lifetime resident of Morgan Township and had worked in the Porter County Auditors Office as a clerk. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Valparaiso and Happy Circle Bunco Club. Born September 15, 1918 in Morgan Township, the daughter of Claude E. and Elizabeth (Spohn) Fryar. On November 23, 1938 in Morgan Township she married Arthur Ailes. Survivors include husband, Arthur, of 62 years, five children: Sharon (Bill) Wiegand of Valparaiso, Roger of Morgan Township, Linda Robertson of Kouts, Lila (Jim McLaren) Hoffman of New York and Donna (Dwight) Bowens of Texas; grandchildren: Jodi (Doug) Jokerst, Alan (Margie) Asher, Jessica (Ryan) Mottinger, Nora Ailes, Beth Ailes, Amber (Bruce) Paarlberg, Brian (Traci) Robertson, Brock Hoffman, Kent (Nicole) Hoffman, Shay Hoffman, Jerome Bowens, Kyndal Bowens, Kendra Bowens, Wes (Linda) Wiegand and Tricia Wiegand; great-grandchildren: Adam, Ben, Drew and Josh Gericke, Ben, Jessica and Jorie Furnas, April and Adrienne Asher, Tasha, Shanna and Wesley Wiegand, Amara Wiegand, Chasity and Madeline Mottinger, Matthew King, Amanda, Derek, Karli and Lakin Paarlberg, Syd and Noah Robertson, Jasper, Rhiannon and Liam Hoffman, Doug, Corey, and Maggie Jokerst; great-great-granddaughter: Kaylie Torbeson; sister, Lois (Nick) Polite; brother-in-law, Harold "Pop" (Annabell) Ailes; niece: Joanne (Doug) Ross; great-nephew: Nicky Ross, and great-niece, Katy Ross. Preceded in death by parents and one brother. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2001, 10:30 A.M. at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 1507 Glendale Blvd., Valparaiso, with Pastor Dave Kovalow-St. John and Pastor Mike Wilhite officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Valparaiso, American Lung Association, or Morgan Township School Scholarship Fund. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kosanke Funeral Home. 105 East Indiana St., Kouts, Indiana.
