She was the daughter of Louis C. and Myrtle Fuller. It is said she was born in Sherman, Texas, and that may be correct. But on the 1910 census the Louise & Myrtle Fuller family are living in Dwason County, Montana, and young Louise is among the children listed. The 1920 census finds the family near Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, with Louise 11 years old. Her parents moved around, as siblings were born in Canada, South Dakota, Montana (as Louise is listed in 1910), and Texas. Her father sometimes worked for the the railroad.

Louise married Louis Courtemanche Jr. in 1932. They lived in Oregon, the Palm Springs area, and La Jolla.

She was a member of the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club and enjoyed playing bridge.
