Estherville – Funeral services for Meta M. [Marie] Caywood, 90, of Estherville will be held at 1 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 6 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Glenn Bohmer officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Saturday [October 3, 1998] at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, Monday, at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Good Samaritan Center of Estherville.
She was born [Meta Marie Gades] on October 30, 1907 in Tara Township, Minn. She received her education in the Swift County, Minn. schools. On October 30, 1928, she was united in marriage to Calvin John Caywood at her parents' home in Swift County. Following their marriage, the couple lived several places before moving to Estherville in 1942. She has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center since June of 1994. Mr. Caywood died Nov. 21, 1995.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Jack (Charlene) Nommensen of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Donald (Christell) Long of San Diego, Calif.; son-in-law, Marion Stearns of Oelwein; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; and twin sister, Ida Marquart of Morris, Minn.
