Death of Mrs. Bertha Gades

Mrs. Bertha Gades, 73, 1218 West Fourth street, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at her home.
She had suffered a stroke ten days ago. The only close surviver is one son, George, Winona.

Mrs. Gades was born April 16, 1877, in Germany, and had lived in Winona 43 years, coming
here from Germany. She was a member of the Sorrowful Mother and St. Ann's societies of St. John's church and of Winnebago council No. 11, Degree of Pocahontas.

Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at St. John's church, the Rev. D. D. Tierney officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Friends may call at the Breitlow funeral home from 7 to
9 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be said at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday by the
societies and at 8 p.m. by Father Tierney.
