Leominster, Dec 13 - Mrs Hannah J (Tansey) Gaffney, died at her home, 101 Priest Street, this morning. She was born in Ireland and lived in Leominster for many years. She was a member of St. Leo's parish and of the Rosary sodality.
Mrs Gaffney is survived by four daughters: Mrs Leon Cloutier, Miss Katherine E Gaffney, Mrs Maurice Cahil and Mrs Theresa O'Mealey, all of Leominster; four sons, James P of West Fitchburg, Frank J, Thomas A and Joseph L, all of this city; 18 grandchildren and eitht great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the home Wednesday morning. A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated in St Leo's church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in the family lot in St Leo's cemetery.
Dec 15-The funeral of Mrs Hannah J (Tansey) Gaffney, who died at her home, 101 Priest St, Monday, was held from the home this morning.
Rev Michael T Slattey celebrated a solemn high mass of reauiem in St Leo's church at 9 o'clock. Rev Martin J Welsh was deacon and Rev Francis J O'Rourke was sub-deacon.
The soloists were Mrs Frank LaFray, Mrs J Philip Legere, Miss Eleanor Legere and Franklyn Crowley. A large congregation attended the services including a delegation from the Rosary sodality of which Mrs Gaffney was a member.
Burial was in the parish cemetery where prayers were said at the grave by Rev Fr Slattery. The bearers were Martin, Leo and Robert O'Mealey, James and Paul Gaffney, and Ronald Cahill.
