Dorothy S. (Gaffney) Bailey, 99 years of age passed away at her home in Boynton Beach, Florida on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012. She was born in Rockland, MA. She had previously resided in Weymouth and Norwell before moving to Florida. She is survived by her son Kenneth E. Bailey with whom she made her home for the last 15 years. She was the mother of the late Gordon B. Bailey, William R. Bailey and Roger Bailey. She was the former wife of the late Arnold B. Bailey of Weymouth. While living in Massachusetts she had been an employee of the Christie Transfer Company of Abington and then became a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida until her retirement. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Eleanor Deb Bailey or Norwell, six grandchildren William Bailey of Nevada, Dorothy Mohn of Marshfield, Deborah Bailey of Norwell, Sheri Bailey, Michael Bailey and Brian Bailey all of Florida; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Her family is grateful for the gift and example of her life. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, September 5 at 11 a.m. at Fairmount Cemetery, Cedar Street, East Weymouth. The Reverend Stacey Lanier, Pastor of the Church Hill United Methodist Church, Norwell will officiate. Arrangements by the Weymouth Peck Funeral Home 781-337-0093.
