Ann Galbraith Alexander, 92, died on August 25, 2009, at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield NH after a long illness. Ann was born at "The Grange" in Lancaster on November 7, 1916, the daughter of William R. Galbraith and Helen Stockwell Galbraith. She was a granddaughter of Dr. Emmons Stockwell of Lancaster, a descendant of one of Lancaster's founding families. She graduated from Lancaster High School and lived in Lancaster, Whitefield, and Littleton over the years.

Ann married Robert H. Alexander of Whitefield in 1934. After raising her three children, Ann worked in the family business and later at New England Telephone & Telegraph in Littleton. She attended the Community Baptist Church in Whitefield and in later years St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lancaster.

She is survived by her sister Joan Galbraith Pottle; son Duncan K. Alexander; daughter Susan A. Wolf; and daughters-in-law Phyllis Alexander and Elaine Alexander; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grand children.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Alexander, son Mark G. Alexander, brother Hugh Galbraith, and sister Lucy Galbraith Jones.
