She was born Nov. 15, 1932, at Gnadenhutten, a daughter of the late Mathew R. and Veda (Gray) Galbraith.
Mary was a member of the Dennison Foursquare Gospel Church and attended Millersburg Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Gnadenhutten High School class of 1951.
Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting and singing.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary K. (Philip) Pope of Coshocton and Renita S. Basiewicz of New Philadelphia, a grandson Chad (Jessi) Beighley of Athens, Ga., and a great-grandson, Carson Baighley.
On Dec. 29, 1951, she was married to Chester R. Ankrom, who preceded her in death on July 2, 1972. Her parents, a daughter, Melinda Gay Ankrom, a brother and sister also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Gowins Funeral Home at Gnadenhutten with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating. Burial will be in Gnadenhutten Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 in the funeral home.
