His funeral will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday September 1, 2015 St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth, with Rev. Mauricio Vieira officiating, burial will follow in Chatsworth Cemetery, with full military rites. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Memorials in his name may be left to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church or American Legion Post 613 or to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is handling the services.
Berdell was born in Cullom, Illinois on September 7, 1924 a son of John and Ella (Baker) Galloway.He married Annetta Saathoff on March 16, 1947 in Charlotte, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his Parents, his brother, Weldon and his sister Evelyn Haley.
Berdell graduated from Cullom High School in 1942, He served our country In The U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Islands. He was a member of St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walter Clemens American Legion Post 613. Berdell was a farmer and he also served as Charlotte Road Commissioner for 16 years. Berdell enjoyed working in the shop.
