LAMPASAS - A private service will be held at a later date for Elward Elmore Gann, 93, of Lampasas.
The body will be cremated.
He died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at a Copperas Cove nursing home.
Mr. Gann was born in Cameron to Elmore Bollinger Gann and Beulah Mabel Story Gann. He was retired civil service, working as a combat vehicle mechanic foreman. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Tyler Gann and one grandchild.
Survivors include one son, Elward P. Gann of Houston; two daughters, Nancy M. Gann of Kempner and Mona A. Walker of Houston; four brothers, W. Gayle Gann of Cameron, James D. Gann of Anaheim, Calif., Donald G. Gann of Hawley and Daymond A. Gann of Headrick, Okla.; one sister, Mary Ruth Daughtry of Athens; eight grandchildren; and 16, great-grandchildren.
Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas is in charge of arrangements.
