Betty Jean Gann Ainsworth passed away on August 19, 2015 at the age of 85 after a serious fall in Maryland. She was born on May 8, 1930 and spent most of her early life in Higginsville, MO, graduating from Higginsville High School. In 1948, she married Maurice "Rudy" Ainsworth and had 2 daughters: Charlotte Goodman Hansen and Christine Urie. After retiring from Vance Bros. Asphalt in 1982, she and Rudy had a long time antique business where her creative talents shined in painting, sewing, and quilting. She also worked as a bookkeeper for her daughter Christine at Urie & Associates. In June 2015, she moved to Gambrills, MD to be close to her daughter Charlotte. She was a loving and devoted mother and wife who loved to be with her family. Betty was a long time member of the Unity Universal Church of Kansas City, MO. She is survived by her 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren (Colby, Malia, Rachel and Luke). Betty will be cremated and placed with her late husband Rudy at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville, MO. The family will have a memorial service in Kansas City in her honor to be announced later this year. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association .
