Mrs. Ruth (Gann) Barker, age 35 years, 8 months and 11 days, wife of Carson Barker of Bud, died Friday after a short illness.
Mrs. Barker was formerly Miss Ruth Gann of Coldwater, Mississippi. She came here seven years ago to teach in the country schools, teaching one year at Bethesda and three years at Ard.
She married Mr. Barker, October 22, 1929 and besides her husband she is survived by one small son, John Thomas. She is also survived by her father, Mr. J.S. Gann of Coldwater.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Sam Hughes at the Oak Grove church Sunday afternoon. The esteem in which she was held was fittingly attested by the immense crowd who attended the funeral.
Richard Lee was the undertaker.
