Juanita Garcia, 90, of Visalia, California passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Visalia, California surrounded by her loving family.

Juanita was born in Los Angeles, California on May 23, 1925 to Jose and Emeliana Cortez. Juanita attended schools throughout California, attending Carrie Barnett and Webster Schools and graduating from Stockton High School. She married Raymond Garcia on August 23, 1969 and they made their home in Visalia. Juanita was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Visalia. She enjoyed dancing, music, gardening, her animals and cooking for her family. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. Her family brought her much joy and she cherished times spent with them, no matter what the occasion. She will always be remembered as the loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother that she was.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Emiliana Cortez, her loving husband Ray in 2002, her sister, Josephine Villa and her infant son Patrick Silva in 1954.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; one brother and one sister, Mary Montejo; 23 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 4 - 6 p.m. with Recitation of Rosary immediately following. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1908 N. Court Street in Visalia, CA. Burial will follow at Visalia District Cemetery.
