Mrs. Charles A. Clark, nee Sarah Marshall Garrigues, passed away at about two-thirty o'clock last Thursday morning, July 27, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had suffered a stroke on Sunday. She was the fourth child born to Charles H. and Cynthia M. (Brewer) Garrigues in Francesville on June 20, 1877. Cynthia May (Hayworth), John Urban Garrigues and Theodore Stokes Garrigues have preceded her in death. Her brother, Rev. Caspar C. Garrigues of Kansas City, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Tomlinson of Goodland, Indiana, survive. Mrs. Clark was educated in the Francesville schools, where she taught the lower grades for a few years. She married Charles A. Clark in June 1896. Mr. Clark died in February 1936. She was a member of the Christian Church. She taught Sunday School classes all of her active life. For the past two years she has been confined to her home. Two sons were bone into the family, and they survive: Caspar C. Clark of Lakewood, Ohio, and Keith M. Clark of Akron, Ohio. There are five grandchildren--Mrs. Carol M. Brown of Miami, Florida, Mrs Martha Jane Mapes of Ithaca, New York, Chris C. Clark, a senior at Denison University, Granville, Ohio, Marshall Keith Clark, a senior at Akron University, Akron, Ohio, and Linda L. Clark, junior in Buchtel high school, Akron. There are three great-grandchildren--Kathryn Clark Mapes and Barth David Mapes, of Ithaca, New York, and Caral Clark Brown of Miami, Florida. Funeral services were at the Christian Church Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Ralph Messick in charge. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery.
