Margaret M. Franks, 89, of Ashland, passed away Sunday at Rest Haven nursing home, Schuylkill Haven.
Born in Girardville, Aug. 22, 1924, she was a daughter of the late James and Mame Conway Gaughan.
She attended Girardville schools and graduated from Butler Township High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Ashland.
She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Joseph Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Franks, in 1989, and a brother and a sister, Colette Landers and James Gaughan.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons, John, husband of Mary Franks, Newark, Del., Paul Franks, Hollywood, Calif., Colette Walacavage, Ashland and Lenore Davies and her companion, James O'Connor, Ashland; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews survive.
