Sandra Gertsch Ball passed away Thursday, Aug 21, 2003, at her home in Salisbury, NC.
Mrs. Ball was born the 10th of December in 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Julius Alma and Lavoun Eggett Gertsch. She graduated from East High School of the Salt Lake City Schools and New York Institute of Photography. Mrs. Ball was a professional photographer before serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a missionary in North Carolina. After returning to Salt Lake City upon completion of her mission, she chose to move and live in North Carolina. She later met and married Charles Willis Ball of Kannapolis, NC. They were married for eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1966. She was well-known in Rowan County for her extensive genealogical research. She was an active member of the Rowan County Genealogical Association.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salisbury, NC. She was a Sunday School teacher, Youth Seminary teacher and a Family History Specialist.
Survivors include her husband. Charles Willis Ball.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Julian Road in Salisbury. Services will be conducted by Bishop John Coalson. The burial will be at Latter-day Saints Cemetery in North WiIkesboro, NC directly following the services.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Julian Road in Salisbury prior to the services.
