PITTSBURG —
Betty Jean Giacometti, 85, of Frontenac, KS, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
She was born on October 17, 1926, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Arthur M. and Lillian L. (Kinsch) Bulot. She graduated from Pittsburg High School.
On February 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Girardo Giacometti. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1974.
Mrs. Giacometti worked in the Frontenac High School Library and later at the Sunset Manor Activity Center.
Membership was held in American Legion Auxiliary for 55 years.
Survivors include her three sons, Randy Giacometti and his wife, Shirley of Pittsburg, Jeff Giacometti and his wife, Sharon of Farlington, KS, and Craig Giacometti and his wife, Shirley of Frontenac, KS; two grandsons, Jason Giacometti and Evan Giacometti; granddaughter, Kylee Feagan; and a great granddaughter, Lily Hope Feagan.
Mrs. Giacometti was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Memorial visitation service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 21) at Brenner Mortuary, where remembrances will be given by Rev. Jim Sukraw at 6:30 p.m. Private family burial will take place at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Sunset Manor Activity Fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may also leave condolences online at the following website: www.brennermortuary.com.
