Catherine Cole was the tenth child of Jonathan and Lois (Squire) Cole. She was born in Weston, CT and grew up there. She married Reuben Marshall Gibbs of Kent in 1819 and moved there to set up a home for her carpenter/builder husband. They had seven children and some died young. She died in 1852 and was buried at the Congregational Church Cemetery in the village of Kent (behind the church and over the railroad tracks). Her husband Reuben married several more times after her death.
