Mrs. Martha G. Bixbee, 60, wife of Civil Defense director Henry L. Bixbee, died suddenly at her home, 1 Vine street, Saturday night while her husband was attending the annual American Legion Nation Commander's dinner in Boston.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Martha (Jameson) Gifford. She was a member of the local Unitarian Church and of the New Dorcas Society there.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Henry L., Jr. of Beverly and Gifford, assigned currently to Crystal Air Force base at Mercedes, California.
Services were held yesterday afternoon from the Eustis funeral home, 142 Elm street.
