Miles City, Mont.--Mrs. Joseph Bateman, a pioneer woman of this state and an old resident of Miles City, died August 2. She was a pioneer of the state, coming here in July 1883, and remaining here ever since, always loyal and in love with Montana.
She was born in Blossburg, Pa. in 1845
She married Joseph Bateman at Morristown, Pa., in 1866.
They had seven children, three boys and four girls. Four are now living, Mrs. Lena Johnston of Boyes, Mont.; Sam Bateman of Medford, Ore.; Joe Bateman of North Yakima; and William Bateman of Miles City.
