Arby E. Glaspell
Arby E. Glaspell, 68, of West Union died April 22, 2002, in Center Point, W.Va.

He was born Oct. 31, 1933, in Doddridge County, a son of the late Wilbur E. and Madelyn Holbert McKinney Glaspell.

Mr. Glaspell was the owner/operator of Glaspell Lumber Company for more than 50 years. He was a Mason and a member of the Friendship Lodge 56 and the Order of the Eastern Star 56. He was a member of the Parkersburg Moose Lodge 1118 and the Parkersburg Elk Lodge 198. He was Protestant by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Glaspell, whom he married Sept. 7, 1972; three sons, Gregory E. Glaspell and wife, Debra, Eric Leon Glaspell and Shawn A. Glaspell, all of Center Point; one daughter Kelly Jane Cavall and husband, Robert of Slatington, Pa.; three stepdaughters, Ronda Ash and husband, Bryan of West Union, Jennifer Leggett and husband, Ray of Sunnyside, W.Va., and Alicia Healey of Shinnston; two stepsons, Stacy McClain of New Milton, W.Va., and John McClain of Ashley, W.Va.; one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Stadden of Parkersburg; one brother, Leon Glaspell of South Charleston, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and three stepgreat-granddaughters.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, West Union, with Minister Jack McChurch officiating.

Burial will follow in the Center Point Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Spurgeon Funeral Home.
