Mrs. K. Ramona Amore of Emerald Hills Estates, Allegany, died today (Saturday, Aug. 8, 1987) in St. Francis Hospital, Olean, after a long illness.
Born in Olean on Oct. 30, 1918, she was a daughter of James J. and Nora V. Ryan Joseph. On July 12, 1941, she married Anthony P. Amore, who died in 1975.
Mrs. Amore was a graduate of Geneseo Normal School.
She had taught in rural schools for many years and 17 years at St. Bonaventure Parochial School. Later she had been employed as head dietician at St. Bonaventure Friary Infirmary, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Vandalia.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Merle (Suzanne) Rhodes and Mrs. Jeffrey (Christine) Mason, both of Allegany; three sons, Joseph Amore of Groton, N.Y., Michael Amore of Allegany and Dennis Amore of Friendship; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Gleason of Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Halwig Funeral Home, 117 Hamilton St., Olean, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (Aug. 11, 1987) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
A Vigil Wake service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department Ambulance Fund.
