Ethel Doris Godley Clark, 91. Of Brunswick, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held 2PM Friday, January 6, 2012 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Bishop Dean Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Josh Clark, Gary Clark, Rodney Jewell, Chris Knox, Chad Clark and Jason Beardslee serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Cowart and Roy McDowell.
Born June 4, 1920 in Camden County Georgia to the late Richard and Mary C. Godley, Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Glynn County. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brunswick. Mrs. Clark was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with her children and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett L. Clark, Sr., and a son, Thomas J. Clark.
Survivors include four sons, Everett L. Clark and wife Joan, Melvin A Clark, Larry W. Clark and wife Sherri, and Don J. Clark and wife Karen, all of Brunswick, four daughters, Annette M. Nelson of Brunswick, Eleanor L. Jewell and husband Lyn, and Carol E. Itrich, both of Orange Park, FL, and Denise A. Gamble and husband Jim of Brunswick, twenty five grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren, and sixteen great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles.
