Zelma Godley Brewington, 100, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Litchford Falls Healthcare in Raleigh. A long time resident of Littleton and Roanoke Rapids, she had resided in Raleigh in recent years due to declining health.

She was the owner and operator of the Littleton Beauty Salon where she enjoyed working and socializing with her many friends. Zelma was a longtime member of Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church and was active in many civic organizations. She was especially proud of her volunteer services with the Women's VFW Auxillary of which she remained a member until her death.

Zelma is survived by her sons, Haywood Corbett and wife, Myrtle. of Whiteville, NC and David Corbett and wife, Doris, of Tabor City, NC; her daughter, June Thames of Raleigh; her son. Willis Pinnell of Manassas, VA; three grandchildren and tour great grandchildren.

Her wishes were to be buried next to her granddaughter, Kay Corbett in the Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville, NC at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 20th.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Litchford Falls Healthcare for the love and care shown to our mother. In lieu of flowers. the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by Blaylock Funeral Home in Littleton and Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville.
