Wanda Lou passed from this life into eternity Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 86 years. She was a life-long resident of Henryetta. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter of Henryetta for over fifty years. She was born August 13, 1923 and preceded in death by her parents, Bee and Bertha Golightly, her only child, Romona Lee Durbin Gilroy, a brother, Howard Franklin Golightly and husband Alfred John Cellier. Her cousins were a major part of each others lives, in closeness, more like siblings. Most every Sunday at their grandparents farm, west of Henryetta, which is part of I-40 today and was known as the Frank and Betty Griffin Farm, Wanda played with enthusiasm, Easter egg hunts, playhouse and watermelon patch, that the days fun for Wanda was so busy she could not often arrive on time for school Monday morning. Graveside rites will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. Friends may visit the funeral home on Monday from 8-12. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
