Isabell Allen, Wife of Jos. Allen, Dies
Mrs. Isabell (Bell) Allen, wife of Joseph Allen, and former resident of Golden, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hunter, 3150 W. Clyde Place, Denver, on December 7. She had been ill for the last ten weeks.
Isabell Golightly was born in DeQuion, Ill., August 7 1865. She spent her early life in Illinois and moved to Golden with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Golightly in 1876. She made her home in Golden and was married here to Joseph Allen on May 7, 1884. They continued their residence in this city until 1906 when they moved to Denver. Mr. Allen is a retired C & S railroad man.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the auxiliary to Frank P. Sergeant Lodge No. 319, Brotherhood of Locomotive firemen and Enginemen.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Rose Osborn, Wheat Ridge; Estella Darby and Bertha Hunter, Denver; three sons of Denver, William H., Joseph Jr. and Clifford F. Allen, and another son, Walter F. Allen of Lafayette, Colo., six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-granchildren.
