Bennie Golightly
Bennie Golightly, 89, of Allen (formerly of Floydada) went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2013.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Floydada. Pastor Tim Franks officiated assisted by Terry Simmons.
Bennie was born May 17, 1924 to W. E. and Rosa Lackey. She married Clifford Golightly on April 18, 1944. They had two sons, James Golightly born January 30, 1946 and Dayne Golightly born March 31, 1950. She moved to Allen, Texas and resided there for twenty years and came back to Slaton to reside on June 1, 2013.
Bennie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, James and grandson, Dillion Golightly of Allen, son, Dayne and wife, Penny Goligthly of Floydada, grandson, Rance and wife, Kami Golightly and great-grandchildren, Justin and Alaina of Lubbock, granddaughter, Lacy Schilling and husband, Gregg and great-grandchildren, Kelsea and Grant of Slaton, brothers, Greer Lackey of Floydada and Lindsey and wife, Billie Ruth Lackey of Cedar Hill, sister, Thada and husband, Jay Fowler of Silverton and numerous and wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister, Wanda DuBois and husband, Bill of Jewett.
