Freda Wilma Cate, 94, of Raymond NH, died Jan. 10, 2002, in Exeter Hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1907, in Hardwick VT, the daughter of the late Fred and Wilma (Hall) Goodridge. She was a lifelong resident of Raymond. Mrs. Cate was a clerk and seamstress at the Exeter Handkerchief Company. She was a charter member of the Raymond Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ray-Fre Senior Citizens Center in Raymond NH.
The widow of Carl Cate, Sr., she is survived by her sons, Carl Cate, Jr.of Conroe TX, Myron Cate of Haysprings NE, John Cate of Raymond NH, and Bob Thistle of Exeter NH; daughters, Eileen Dalton of North Hampton NH, Sandra Courtemanche of Raymond NH, Jane Bassett of Sterling VA, and Barbara Webster of California; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brother Fred Goodridge of Needham Heights MA; sister Grace Babineau of Concord NH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Alvin Cate.
