Eliza (Goodwin) Dolan, 85, of Marblehead, died April 6, at Salem Hospital. She was the wife of the late James W. Dolan. Born in Marblehead, May 19, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Langley) Goodwin. She was a graduate of Marblehead High School, class of 1932. After graduation, she went on to attend Burdette College.

Living in Marblehead all her life, she was active in her community. She was on the board of the Marblehead Female Humane Society, a member of the Council on Aging, and also a part of "the Girl's of '32", an informal group consisting of a number of women from her graduating class who meet on a monthly basis for lunch. She was former volunteer at the Mary Alley Hospital in Marblehead.

She is survived by a son, James H. Dolan of Marblehead; a brother, Emerson Goodwin of Marblehead; a niece, Harriett Gowell and her husband David of Marblehead; and a nephew, Standley Goodwin of Marblehead. She was the sister of the late Azor Goodwin.

Graveside services were held April 10. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in Mrs. Dolan's memory to the Marblehead Swampscott Visiting Nurses Association, 1 Widger Rd., Marblehead, MA 01945 or the Marblehead Female Humane Society, PO Box 425, Marblehead, MA 01945.
