Helen Crossett, 96 of 4635 Herbert Hoover Highway, died Tues 7 Jan 1997, in the Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center after a long illness. Services: 10 am, Fri, Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with burial in Memory Gardens Cem. The Rev Dick Watkins will officiate. Friends may call from 5 - 7 tonight at George L. Gay Funeral Home, Iowa City.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy (Bob) Russell of Iowa City; a daughter-in-law, Bette Crossett of Iowa City; a brother, Ralph Goody of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, a son, a great-grandson and two brothers.
Born 6 Jun 1900 in Riverside, IA, the daughter of William and Mary Starry Goody, she married Ralph Crossett on 19 Sep 1918 in Iowa City. Helen attended City High School in Iowa City and worked as a maid at the Quadrangle until her retirement in 1962. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa City.
