Eleanor Gottschall "Nannie" Bryant, 76, of Madison Heights, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred Dewey Bryant Jr. for 58 years. Born September 4, 1937, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late David and Selma G. Gottschall; and was also preceded in death by a sister, Lucy G. Tyree. Eleanor retired from C&P Telephone Company after thirty years of service and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church but the love of her life was being with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Alfred D. Bryant and wife, Tammy, of Monroe and Brandon Bryant and wife, Krista, of Madison Heights; and four grandchildren, Landon, Jarred, Sierra, and Sydney Bryant. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Peyton Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. today, Sunday, February 23, 2014, at the funeral home.
