Mrs. Amelia F. Granda died on her 95th birthday, Nov. 21, 2011, in Glen Ridge, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona, N.J., on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 9:30 a.m. Born in Swoyersville, Pa., Mrs. Granda moved to Verona 64 years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Church and the Verona Park Senior Citizens. Mrs. Granda also worked with Catholic Charities as a foster parent. She was the wife of the late Walter C. Granda, and the mother of Gloria Connor, Walter J. Granda, Leonard Granda, Barbara Granda, Bernadine Valente and Arnold Bernard. She was the third oldest of 14 children, born to the late Victor and Victoria Skiendziel. Her surviving siblings are Walter, Alice, Arlene, Sr. Melita, OSF, and Sr. Cynthia, OSF. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
